CEnet ACEN

eBook of the Week

25/5/2022

The theme for this week is Reconciliation Australia 2022 as Reconciliation Week commences on the 27th of May.

The titles selected for primary and secondary schools are available under the Simultaneous Use model.
The title for senior students/staff is available under the Concurrent Use model with 80+ copies.

The CEnet Member Dioceses ACEN eBook Consortium, with the assistance of Lisa Nash and Saba Maniar from the Digital Learning and Library Services Team in Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta, provide the book of the week feature for students and staff in dioceses that have access to the CEnet ACEN SORA eBook Library Consortium .

Each week, two reading recommendations for eBooks or audio books, with age guidance are published for primary school students and high school students and to make sure that no-one is left out, there is a recommendation for staff too.

eBook of the Week Slides linked here.
These slides are available to anyone with the link and thus you can forward to your schools to share in whatever way they wish - email, google classroom, canvas, seesaw etc, even publicly on a school site or social media feed. Also, if you would prefer to rebadge the slides as coming from your diocese, please make a copy and feel free to do so.

Your feedback and suggestions are always welcome.

Supporting Newly Arrived Students

2/5/2022

The CEnet ACEN Working Group was recently made aware that 'A few of our schools are starting to enrol students who have just arrived in Australia from Ukraine. These students appear to have very little English so resources in Ukrainian are needed quite urgently'.

In response to this emerging need for resources the CEnet ACEN Working Group has identified and added 74 titles to the CEnet member eBook collection. These resources are available now for staff and students in dioceses participating in the eBook consortium.
