The Armidale Diocese have created an exciting way for aspiring student authors to explore their creativity.
The Diocese have kicked off their inaugural Students As Authors Writing Competition which invites students to compose and submit a story based on an idea they would like to give to the world.
The event is open to students in Armidale Diocese with winners from the four categories having the opportunity to work with author/illustrator Trish Donald to develop their story into an illustrated eBook.
EBooks will be published to SORA, the digital library, where they will be available to borrow for more than 266,000 students across the 14 CEnet Member Dioceses that make up the Australian Catholic Educators Network who manage the library space.
The competition aims to give students the experience of working within the publishing industry, developing their story for an authentic audience of their peers. It is part of the Diocese's ongoing focus on literacy and writing.
eBooks will be available in SORA towards the end of term 3.
