Services Catalogue

CEnet's service catalogue contains a list of shared services that are required for the delivery of 21st Century Learning in support of the purpose of CEnet. The list is broken into three service categories.
  1. Foundation Services are 'enabling services' that provide a technical foundation for an agile services architecture.
  2. Pillar Services are services that the CEnet Board has agreed drive value for a consortium benefit. For example to leverage volume, reduce cost through de-duplication of effort or provide equity.
  3. Optional Services are services that CEnet members may optionally take up to reduce risk or support equity. For example if a dioceses does not have the appropriate competencies or resources.

Foundation Services
Data centre (Tier-III): 
  • Housing core network, infrastructure and systems within a select set of secure, Tier-III data centre facilities.
Secure Internet Gateway: 
  • Inter AS functions, Internet carriers, Peering, PNI’s, Content Delivery Networks (e.g. cache farms) & DDoS protection
Identity Management:
  • Managing identities and their lifecycle for the entire membership, including a truely unique and persistent identifier (CeId’er).​
Access Management:
  • Providing single sign-on (SSO) and federation to both internal and external web services including a self-service federation option for member dioceses.​
Domain Name Services
  • Self service, and resilient domain name hosting and management solution including security focused RPZ capabilities (DNS firewall), delivered upon a resilient appliance-based solution.
Core Network Services
  • Intra-AS functions, core routing and switching, Diocesan firewall contexts.
Enterprise Data Warehouse
  • Aggregating learning, teaching  and business data across the CEnet federation into a central standards-based data warehouse environment.. See more info on the CeD3 website.
Enterprise Interoperability Platform
  • Enterprise integration platform providing application and data interoperability, API Management and data standards & quality management through Master Data Management (MDM).

Pillar Services
Enterprise Student Information System (CeSIS)
  • An enterprise student information service for the collection, organisation and management of student and school data.
Enterprise Finance Management System (CeFMS)
  • An enterprise finance management system for the management of diocesan/school finances.​
Enterprise Reporting & Analytics
  • Assisting diocesan staff in analysing and obtaining intelligence from their own data. See more info on the CeD3 website.
Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) & Diocese DMZ
  • A multi-faceted, self-service and network ready IaaS environment offering both on-premise and integrated cloud (AWS & Azure) IaaS options.
Collaborative Productivity Platform
  • An integrated, extensible and collaborative suite of email, productivity, online collaboration and classroom management tools through G Suite for Education.
Web Content Filtering
  • Protecting users from internet-based threats as well as preventing access to inappropriate material.
Web Hosting
  • A multi-tenant, self service web-hosting environment built upon an industry standard Linux, Apache, MySQL & PHP environment. 
High Definition Video Conferencing
  • A SaaS solution offering high quality video, audio and screen-sharing experience across Windows PC, Mac, iOS, Android, Zoom Rooms conference room systems, Skype for Business and H.323/SIP room systems.
Site Router Monitoring & Management
  • Router and WAN security management and 24x7 uptime monitoring.
Email AV/SPAM Filtering
  • On-premise ingress and egress SMTP gateway, Anti-virus and SPAM filtering service.

Enterprise ITSM Platform
  • A SaaS based enterprise ITSM tool and orchestration platform for diocesan and CEnet L1, L2 & L3 support across the membership.
Infrastructure Co-location
  • Hosting member’s own core infrastructure and systems inside CEnet’s data centre.
Aggregated Purchasing
  • Aggregated hardware and software purchasing.
Professional Services
  • Training, Consulting, Body hire and Project Management.
