Multi-Factor Authentication

Stronger Security for your CEnet Account

It's easier than you think for someone to steal your password.  Things that can put you at risk of having your password stolen are:
  • Using the same password for other sites or services.
  • People watching you type it in.
  • Sharing your password with others.
  • Downloading malicious software and content.
  • Clicking on bad links in email messages.

Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) is a way to protect your account from unauthorised access even if your password becomes compromised (or known).  With MFA (also known as 2-factor or 2-step authentication) you can protect your CEnet account with something you know - your password, and something you have - your personal device.
